Eric had all the Juniors' learning color theory, grayscale, tone and hue, and a lot about the proper way to move paint around. Today's lesson was in acrylic but next weeks' will be in gouache. And they'll get to paint in color! (Kids DO NOT have to be there for all four classes to attend.)

Each Junior left with their own "pochade box," of sorts, a Plein Air Magazine hat, and an issue of Plein Air Magazine.

We have some very talented and fast-learning Juniors on our lakes...

We will gather at Camp Arrowhead (Rhoads/Spitfire #37.) Lessons will be indoors, rain or shine. I’ll be teaching oil painting. Materials will be provided (or bring your own).

If you would rather your lessons be in another medium, like watercolor or acrylic or gouache, you’re welcome to attend.

The goal is to give you at least one complete painting that you can be proud of by the end of the season.

Each person should bring a photo (printed or on your phone/tablet) of something that inspires you which you would like to paint.

No experience or talent required, anyone can learn to paint (it’s a system like following a recipe).

Toward the end of the class each day, it will morph into a Paint and Sip.

There is no fee.

Adult lessons start Monday, Aug 3 from 2-4:30. Every Monday through August.

Note: Jr Yacht club is doing painting classes here on Tuesday mornings. We have 12 slots and several still open. The kids will be doing plein air painting around the lake this summer with an auction of one painting each (time and date TBD) as a fundraiser for the Jr. Yacht Club.

Kid lessons begin Tuesday, July 28 through Aug 18 from 10-11.
